At Davo Productions, we love to support others that are out in the world making a difference. Each and every project that we do, proceeds go to towards these organizations. If you are out there changing the world, we would like to hear from you. Please contact us!
Overview: Our vision is to provide a way for people who don't have hundreds or thousands of dollars to make a difference in Africa. We do this through a community-based website where members can start a team and invite friends to join them in giving $7 a month – the cost of 2 mochas – to support a project in Africa. We know that today's tech-savvy generation can have a huge impact by using the viral nature of the web. So we decided to equip Mocha Club members themselves to share their excitement and grow awareness and support for Africa by inviting friends!
Why: This is interesting because we are not big coffee drinkers. We see the cause and $7 a month or the cost of two mochas to make a difference around the world is amazing. We had a chance to talk to another supporters and his story about how God blessed us with so much and how we are at the front of the line. Its our turn to help those in the back of the line, those who are less fortunate that we are. God cares about those in the back of the line as much as those in the front. Its time to give a helping hand to those in need with the cost of two mochas.
Overview: Please Live is a Suicide Prevention project that was started in response to the growing number of suicides in the central Pennsylvania region. Please Live targets teens and young adults that are considering suicide or have close friends or family that is considering suicide. The campaign focuses mainly on the Cumberland county and surrounding areas but also speaks generally to the Nation as a whole.
Why: We actually know the person who founded this organization. Her drive to help hurting people is something we had to support. We operate out the central Pennsylania and its good to see people making a difference in our neighborhood.
Overview: To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.
Why: Paramore is one of our favorite musicians and we noticed one day, the lead singer Haley Williams was wearing a "To Write on Her Arms" t-shirt. We did some research and we saw the impact they are making worldwide in the areas of depression, addiction, etc. We read a lot of the testimonies people have shared about the impact this organization has made and had to jump on board.
Overview: World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
Why: We were at a concert sponsored by World Vision and the testimonies we heard that night about the impact this organization makes on children around the world. We decided to support World Vision and sponsor a child. Her name is Devota Byiringiro and she lives in Rwanda. We hope to visit her one day. We get letters and pictures from her all the time. Its good to see us making a difference in her life. Thank you World Vision.
Overview: Our goal is to bring 100% physical and spiritual healing to children with disabilities in the developing world. We are transforming the lives of children with hydrocephalus, cleft lip and palate, spine deformities, clubfoot and other crippling orthopedic conditions. Their conditions are treatable, but without CURE, they have nowhere to turn for proper care. These children and their families often feel great shame and face rejection from their relatives and communities. At CURE, they find acceptance and hope as our hospital staff members express God’s love for them.
Why: When we heard about this organization and the impact they are making on children around the world, we had to support them. They are looking to help children get physical procedures done in areas around the world where they can't afford them. They are based out of central PA like we are, that is pretty cool. We saw a video of a little boy that had a deform in his leg and couldn't walk. In the U.S, it would be an easy procedure and the kid would be on his way. In his country, he had to live with that deformed leg because he couldn't afford to get the leg fixed. This is where Cure International stepped in, they found the kid, performed the operation on his leg, and spread the Gospel at the same time. What an amazing story.
Overview: The Dream Center is a non-profit outreach dedicated to helping inner-cities. Our ministry provides hope by meeting both tangible and spiritual needs. We provide food, clothing, shelter, life rehabilitation, education and job training, Biblical training and much more through our 273 ministries and outreaches. We reach thousands of hurting and needy children, families and adults across all races and cultures each week. The Dream Center strives to help solve moral decay, crime, drugs, gangs, homelessness and poverty epidemics that exist in our nation’s inner-cities. The vision of the Dream Center is to see thousands of hurting people come to know a new life through the efforts of our staff, volunteers, and recently rehabilitated individuals whose lives have been dramatically changed.
Why: We had a chance to travel to Los Angeles on a mission trip to work hand and hand with the Dream Center. They have had a immediate impact on what it means to show God's love. They work around the clock to impact their community and we saw the change right in front of our eyes. When we returned we had to support their ministry.
Overview: ARTC is a nonprofit organization using the performing arts to provide an alternative way to foster positive fellowship and association between our youth, their families, and the community. A.R.T.'s sole purpose is to combat and impact Cleveland's inner city neighborhood tension and deterioration through the youth of the community. By providing the neighborhood youth with sensitivity awareness training and performing arts workshops A.R.T. fosters the spiritual and social skills that young people need to become community leaders and self-reliant adults. The workshops cover important social issues such as alchol and drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, family violence, gang associations and family-school unity.
Why: We know the founder of this organization as well and he has a heart for God. When you are getting kids off the streets and giving them an alternative (drama) while spreading the gospel, you can't say no to that. They have been impacting kids lives for a while and God is continuing working through them. We are blessed to be able to support them.
